History
Several years ago, Dr. Kay Lumas attended a meeting sponsored by a local American Legion Post In Los Angles, CA on the advancing problem of veteran homelessness in this nation. She brought these findings to the attention of a friend who is a veteran and together they put into motion the idea of starting a nonprofit organization to work with men and women veterans who are homeless. New Beginnings, Incorporation was organized as a nonprofit corporation 501 (c) (3) on April 6, 2009 in the state of Nevada.
The objectives of New Beginnings Incorporation are established within the fields of behavioral health and mental health counseling. The principals of New Beginnings Incorporation bring extensive expertise associated with case management, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation, career, education and vocational counseling, basic skills training, life path counseling, grief and bereavement counseling, trauma treatment and community training.
Among the strengths of the three chief principals of New Beginnings Incorporation is an aggregate of 70 years of direct experience in allied health and behavioral and mental health. Their renown and acclaim experience in the behavioral and mental health fields make them a most formidable competitor in the market to service the homeless population.
Each principal has clearly demonstrated their prowess as trained professionals in their respective fields of case manager, marriage and family therapist and allied health and mental health practitioner and educator, and they continue to be highly successful. The wisdom of each principal to plan the exit from their respective fields provides a method for insuring their professional growth by continually seeking greater challenges in working with New Beginnings Incorporation. Ultimately, their creativity, ingenuity, competence and high level of professional acumen will benefit the corporation as it lays the groundwork for programs to benefit the advancing homeless population. This assertion is supported by their notable accomplishments, detailed in the appendix and organization sections of this plan.
