New Beginnings Incorporation
RESIDENTIAL PROGRAM

New Beginnings, Incorporation offers a residential program with a three-tiered structure: Emergency housing up to sixty days and Transitional Housing with Single Room Occupancy and Double Room Occpancy up to two years. Our substance-free shelter is open 7 days a week, 24 hours a day serving women veterans. We provide three healthy meals daily.

The Emergency Housing tier prepares each homeless veteran for the shelter's reintegration program. Each veteran is given a thorough assessment and evaluation. Residents receive individual counseling and on-site assistance to deal with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), substance abuse, emotional and family problems. Clients are assigned a case manager to develop and IAP to develop short and long-term goals towards self-sufficiency. Medical, dental and optical services are available off-site. Financial counseling and legal services are also provided to clients.

The Transitional Housing tier provides clients with a more comfortable living environment. Clients must either be working part time or enrolled in a training, vocational or educational program to enter this component. The program's focus concentrates on career development leading to full time employment, financial management and the search for permanent housing. This program rewards clients for the work they have done and prepares them for the transition to self-sufficiency.

Single Room (SRO) and Double Room (DRO) Occupancy Units are located on the campus. The SRO units are designated for those veterans who have completed the Transitional Housing tier. The DRO units are designated for female veterans with children who have successfully completed our Transitional Housing tier.
